You Deserve Compassionate, Judgment-Free Guidance
Options counseling means exactly what it sounds like: a chance to talk through everything available to you during an unplanned pregnancy, without anyone pushing you toward a particular outcome. Our counselors are trained adoption professionals, but our first job is simply to listen and make sure you understand every path in front of you before you choose one.
Parenting Your Baby
If you’re leaning toward parenting your baby yourself, we can connect you with community resources that make that path more manageable, including food assistance, medical care, and other support listed on our Resources for Birth Parents page. Choosing to parent is just as valid a decision as choosing adoption, and we want you to feel supported either way.
Making an Adoption Plan
If adoption feels like the right direction, our Who Chooses Adoption and Why? page goes into more depth on the reasons women choose this path, and our Step-by-Step Adoption Process page walks through exactly what happens from your first call through placement. There’s no pressure to make this decision quickly, and no pressure to make it at all if it doesn’t feel right.
Understanding Florida's Safe Haven Law
If you’ve already delivered and are still deciding, it’s important to know that Florida’s Safe Haven law allows a parent to bring a newborn to a hospital or fire station within seven days of birth, no questions asked, if they feel unable to care for the baby at that moment. This is separate from working with an adoption agency, but it’s an option worth knowing about if you’re in an urgent situation and haven’t yet made an adoption plan.
