Getting started is simple, and nothing is ever decided until you’re ready. Most families who contact us move through a few general steps:

Contact us. Call, text, or send a message. This first conversation is free, confidential, and pressure-free.
Receive care and options counseling. We connect you to community resources and walk through parenting, foster care, and adoption so you can make an informed decision.
Create a plan. If adoption is right for you, we help you decide on an open, semi-open, or closed adoption and what that looks like for your family.
Choose a family. Birth parents review profiles of waiting adoptive families and choose the one that feels right.
Continued support. Our relationship doesn’t end at placement. We’ve supported birth parents who placed with us since 1992, some for decades.

North Florida and Panhandle Referral Services

While our in-person offices are located in Sarasota and Tallahassee, we’re able to offer referral and counseling support to families further north.

A Note on Florida Adoption Law

Florida’s Safe Haven Law allows a parent to anonymously and legally surrender an unharmed newborn, without fear of prosecution, at any hospital, fire station, or emergency medical services station. As of July 1, 2024, the surrender window was expanded from 7 days old to 30 days old, and parents may now also request an EMS provider by calling 911. Florida law separately allows adoptive families to assist a birth mother with reasonable living expenses during pregnancy and for up to 6 weeks after birth.
