A Bond of Love has been building families across Florida since 1992. From our home office in Sarasota, our team supports expectant mothers, birth parents, and adoptive families throughout Southwest Florida, and we connect families in the panhandle and Big Bend region with in-person counseling through our Tallahassee office. Wherever you live in Florida, you are never far from compassionate, confidential adoption support.

Most of our counseling happens by phone and text, and we can arrange transportation and in-person counselor support for birth mothers who need it, no matter where in our service area they live. You are also always welcome to come to us; many families across the communities listed below choose to meet in person at our Sarasota office.

Sarasota-Bradenton Metro Area (Our Home Region)

This is where A Bond of Love began, and it remains the heart of our work. Expectant mothers and adoptive families throughout the Sarasota-Bradenton metro area can meet with our counselors in person at our Forest Lane office, by phone or text, or with a counselor who comes to you, whichever feels most comfortable.

Families along the Charlotte Harbor coastline and in South Sarasota County work with the same Sarasota-based team. Phone and text counseling is available for anyone who would rather not make the drive, and we can also arrange transportation or send a counselor to you if that is more comfortable.

In Tallahassee, we offer expectant mothers and adoptive parents in-person counseling and social service assistance through our North Florida office. If you live in Tallahassee, Marianna, Chattahoochee, Lamont, Port St. Joe, Panama City, Pensacola, or anywhere else across the panhandle, our counselors are ready to help.

Who We Serve

A Bond of Love works with expectant mothers and fathers, birth parents who have already delivered, and hopeful adoptive families of every background, faith, and family structure. As a nonprofit agency, we never charge birth parents for our services, and we never pressure anyone toward a decision. Distance is never a barrier: transportation and counselor assistance are part of what we offer, so if getting to us is difficult, we can help arrange a ride or send a counselor to you. Whether you are exploring parenting, adoption, or foster care, or you are ready to grow your family through adoption, our licensed team is here to walk beside you.

Florida Law and the Safe Haven Option

Making a plan for your baby is different from surrendering a baby in an emergency, and it helps to understand both paths. Florida’s Safe Haven Law allows a parent to anonymously and safely leave an unharmed infant up to 30 days old at any hospital, fire station, or staffed EMS station, with no fear of prosecution. This law exists as a last resort for parents in crisis. Adoption planning through A Bond of Love offers something more: time to consider your options, ongoing counseling, a say in your baby’s future family, and support that continues long after placement. If you are unsure which path is right for you, our counselors can talk you through every option, day or night.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Service Area

Do you only work with families who live near Sarasota?

No. While our office is in Sarasota, our counselors regularly support expectant mothers and adoptive families throughout Southwest Florida and, through our Tallahassee office, across the panhandle. Many of our services are available by phone and text, and transportation can be arranged for birth mothers who need it, so your location should never keep you from reaching out.

Is financial assistance available no matter where I live in Florida?

Yes. Birth parents working with us may qualify for help with pregnancy-related expenses such as transportation, rent, utilities, groceries, and medical costs, as allowed under Florida law, regardless of which city or county they call home.

Do I get to choose the type of adoption and the adoptive family?

Yes. You choose between closed, semi-open, and open adoption, and you play a role in selecting the family who will raise your child. Our counselors will explain each option so you can decide what feels right for you and your baby.

My baby has already been born. Is it too late to consider adoption?

It is not too late. We work with mothers both before and after delivery, whether you are still in the hospital or your baby is already home with you. Reach out any time and a counselor can walk you through your options.

Is there any cost to place my baby for adoption?

There is no cost to birth parents. Counseling, planning assistance, and legal services are provided at no charge, and pregnancy-related financial assistance may also be available.

Can I stay in touch with A Bond of Love after placement?

Yes. We have supported birth mothers who placed with us since 1992, and many still call to check in with their case manager or to receive updates. Our support does not end at placement; it continues for as long as you need it.
